Brief
Alice Cling
was born about 1946 in a hogan near Kayenta on the Navajo
Nation in northern Arizona. She learned pottery from her mother,
Rose Williams, who is renowned for her innovative Navajo pottery.
Alice Cling is featured in "Pottery by American
Indian Women" by Susan Peterson, "Treasures
of the Navajo" by Theda Bassman, "Enduring
Traditions" by Lois Essary Jacka and "Southwestern
Pottery" by Allan Hayes and John Blom.
