Frequently Asked Questions

Our Vision:
We want to provide an online marketplace for as yet undiscovered, emerging women artists in order to help them improve their visibility and sales. We want to provide a selection of excellent quality contemporary basketry, pottery, jewelry and weaving crafts to our clients at a more reasonable price than available from the more well-known women artists. We hope to help improve possibilities for the artists and our clients as well as ourselves. We also love the idea of helping people to surround themselves with the creations of these artistic craftworks, making part of their everyday lives special and worth celebrating.

Owners’ Biographies:
Carol Snyder – the mama. Received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Administrative Management from Columbia College in 1988. She worked for a major Fortune 500 company for over 20 years as a mid-level manager until they reorganized and decided not to relocate with the company (a more than gutsy move, if you ask the daughter). She has also worked quite happily for the Girl Scouts – Mile Hi Council for six years until the opportunity to work with her daughter on this new venture finally came true. She lives with a Beagle named C.J., a shy cat named Bonkers and an outgoing cat named Joey.

Laura Palmer – the daughter. Received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from University of Maryland in 1991 and is also a certified Graphic Designer. She worked in many different administrative, retail and graphic design positions before opening her own company, Cognizant Design Studio.

Laura and Carol together bring an enthusiastic, bright outlook to this business. Our past business lives bring many skills such as dealing with a variety of people and personalities, an eye for artistic beauty, and a love of travel, as well as the confidence to start our new adventure. We both love art and especially the functional art of the Southwest American Indian women. These timeless crafts have been lovingly and beautifully made out of necessity for thousands of years and will continue far into the future. We endeavor to be part of the cycle. We love being a small part of women helping women.

It is important to us in our business to treat everyone we meet with the highest integrity and honesty.
